What’s up ya’ll,
Today is the first day it’s been really chilly here in Vancouver, so I went out and bought myself a nice cozy jacket AND it was 50% off. SCORE!! …Anyway back to makeup haha I was also feeling inspired to do my first “Basic-B*tch” fall look. You know, smoldery eyes with a vampy lip? Yeah, well although you see the same thing year after year, it somehow never gets old and I love me some dark lips. YUM! I thought I’d try something different with my process though, and take some pics as I was creating the look so you guys could see it step by step.
I already had a bit of tinted moisturizer on and had my brows done so I just started from there. Oh and side note— I got my brows threaded today. HOLY COW! They are so much better. They were getting a little unruly there for a while! But as I was saying… I just started off by priming my eyes with MAC PaintPot in Soft Ochre. This is one of my 2 go-to eye primers, along with Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. I love the yellow undertone to it. It really helps neutralize the red veiny tones on my lids. Gross, I know, but it does the trick and it makes my eyeshadows last FOREVER!
Then I went ahead and took Makeup Geek’s Creme Brule into the crease on a Real Techniques deluxe crease brush and then blended that out even further with a clean Bdellium tools 785 brush.
I went in with my Sonia Kashuk 116 crease brush with some more MUG Creme Brule and darkened up the outer corner a bit more.
Then with my Blanche Macdonald chisel brush I added MUG Cocoa Bear to the outer corner to darken it up even more and I also took some MUG Peach Smoothie on my Bdellium tools 785 brush and swept that back into the crease bring that colour a little more into the inner corner of the eye. I also started to pop a little but of Becca’s (Jaclyn Hill Limited Edition) Champagne Pop highlighter into the inner corner for a warm highlight. WOW, say that 10 times fast…
Things STILL weren’t quite dark enough in the outer corner for my liking so I added a little bit of MUG Bitten as well. I also used my Makeup Forever Artist Palette 2 (the one with all the bright shimmery colours) and took the top right one and added that to the inner corner as well. I spritzed my brush with some MUFE Mist and Fix first though so that the shadow would go on much more intensely.
I then lined my lower upper and lower lash line with some old no-name brown pencil liner and smoked that out with a Real Technique’s accent brush and some MUG Cocoa Bear. I added a winged black liner using Anastasia Beverley Hills Jet Black liner.
After my eyes were complete, I finished off my complexion by adding some Estee Lauder double wear foundation where I wanted more coverage and Urban Decay Naked concealer under my eyes. I wanted to complete the look with a dark berry lip, so I used the Sephora Collection Creme Lip Stain in Blackberry Sorbet.
