Vancouver Finds: Hundy

On Kitsilano’s West 4th Ave. lies a new hidden gem boasting delicious burgers and fries à la In and Out, but with more class, in my opinion. Hundy is the third restaurant/cafe space opened by Jeff Parr (AnnaLena). During the day, at the same address, you’ll find Their There, an aesthetically pleasing, Instagram-worthy cafe that serves espresso-based drinks, teas and delicious pastries made right in house. At night, the menu along with the atmosphere, changes to a trendy burger joint. Loud hip-hop music, a youthful crowd and delicious aromas fill the space when you enter. Although the menu only offers a small list of items, if you’ve come to Hundy, you’ve most likely come for their burgers. The buns are garnished with a house-made special sauce, while their beef patties are made using Two Rivers brisket and shoulder. Fries are hand-cut and double-fried, and their featured slaw was the bomb dot com! A selection of local draught beer and wine is also available. I imbibed in a glass of Lambrusco, because when that’s on the menu, there’s no question— I must have a glass!

Hundy is now open Thursday-Saturday 5:30-11 (or sold out)
